Co-founded by Julien Germain and Martial Goffin, “Norm Brewing” is born from travels, where we fell in love with taprooms and microbreweries offering an endless selection of modern beers. True temples of innovation letting the people and beer lovers share and discover the personality of the brewery. There is something else that catch our attention, another aspect that always attract us :  art and design! Far away from the traditional style we have in Belgium, we think the artwork and design tell a story behind each beer making every brew special and driving to a more complex experience. These places and this modern spirit left an indelible mark that became Norm's driving force.

Our story began in 2018, like many in this sector, with friends, a basement (the Germain family's blue basement that inspired our flaghsip Hazy Pale), a couple of tanks and weekends of homebrewing!

We tried different beer styles such as lager, stout, gose, baltic porter but quickly we have been attracted by IPAs. The aromatic complexity of hops, the countless blending possibilities and the character of the regions fascinated us.

The project has been initially launched in 2020 under the name "Local Heroes” and we started by mainly brewing a Pale Ale (Hazy Pale) tasteful but light in alcohol (5.5%ABV). Something contrasting with the Belgian market of “special beers”.    

In 2022, feeling the project was taking another step, we decided to change our name and branding to become "Norm Brewing".

On today, we are brewing different beers each month across our core, seasonal, and limited ranges and being distributed in different countries.  

It's on the agenda and still the goal of the project! The plans are taking shape, and we're seeing things more and more clearly. We also want a space to welcome you, so we're taking the necessary time to welcome you in the best conditions.
